First blog post. No pressure, right? Um, hi. I’m Ambyre. Want to sit together at lunch?
I have so much I want to share and I'm not really sure how to start, so I’ll just tell you why I'm here: I’m passionate about loving people. Funny people, weird people, quiet people, loud people, people with different abilities and backgrounds. The only people I can't stand are the ones who are intolerant of other people. Which is basically me being intolerant of intolerant people. I’m working on it. Help me Lord.
One of my main goals in writing here is to share some things that I’ve learned in 35 years of life, 16 years of marriage and 11 years of motherhood that I wish someone had told me sooner. I spent a good part of my 20’s isolated (a story for a different post) and feeling really lost. I want to share my journey because I know that so many others are there or have been there. And I believe there is great power in the words "me too."
Disclaimer: I absolutely DO NOT have life figured out. A mom at school told me one time that she thought I had it all together and I laughed so hard I cried. (Oh, I cry a lot. That’s another thing you should know about me right off the bat) But even though I feel like a hot mess 60% of the time, I know that my journey has taught me things that have value. And I want to share those things. I want to be a part of an online community that lifts women up. Where we share our struggles and our victories and good shoe sales.
The internet can be a very negative space that feeds our insecurities or it can be a space of inspiration and community. I hope this is a place where we can celebrate who we are together.
P.S. Mom, don't forget to like this and leave a comment.
